What is the City of Livermore Mortgage Assistance Program?
The City’s Mortgage Assistance Program (MAP) provides mortgage and closing cost assistance to first time home buyers earning up to 120% of Area Median Income (AMI) as shown in the table. These limits are updated annually, typically in March. The maximum borrowing is $60,000 and the assistance is made available in the form of two low interest, amortized and partially deferred payment loans. Please refer to the brochure and Program Guidelines for more details. The home purchased must be in the City of Livermore and the borrower must live in the home as the primary residence. This program may also be used in combination with Mortgage Assistance Programs offered by the State of California and Mortgage Credit Certificates (MCCs).
What other resources are available to help me afford a home?
A Mortgage Credit Certificate (MCC) provides income eligible first-time home buyers with an opportunity to reduce the amount of federal income tax they owe each year which increases their ability to qualify for a mortgage. This program is run through Alameda County Housing and Community Development Department (HCD). Learn more.
